We are a local CPA firm that specializes in tax and bookkeeping services seeking a tax associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will primarily be responsible for preparing individual tax returns with minimal amount of corporate and partnership returns, including tax planning.

In addition to tax preparation, bookkeeping and general ledger experience is required.

Responsibilities

As a Permanent Tax Associate, you will be required to :

1. Prepare and review federal and state income tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts.

2. Utilize your knowledge of tax laws and regulations to provide tax planning and consulting services to our clients.

3. Research complex tax issues and provide clear, concise written responses.

4. Assist with tax audits and respond to tax notices from governmental agencies.

5. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the latest tax software and technologies to enhance efficiency and accuracy in tax preparation.

6. Collaborate with team members to provide excellent customer service and meet firm deadlines.

7. Maintain client confidentiality and adhere to professional standards and ethics.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you should have the following qualifications :

1. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.

2. A minimum of 2 years of experience in tax preparation.

3. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification is preferred.

4. Proficiency in QuickBooks and other tax software.

5. Excellent knowledge of tax laws and regulations.

6. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

9. Strong time management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.

10. A commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
