Tax Supervisor is responsible for supervising the tax reporting, tax planning, and compliance function. Supervises the completion of accurate tax returns in order to minimize the tax obligations of an organization. Being a Tax Supervisor must be familiar with regulations at the federal, state and local level. May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Additionally, Tax Supervisor typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Tax Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be a Tax Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. This position is an administrative assistant to a sole proprietor who performs bookkeeping and tax preparation services. Responsibilities include front-of-house duties like greeting clients, answering phones and email, and performing monthly bookkeeping. During tax season, this position involves organizing documents, pulling client files and checking for county taxes, putting together tax return folders, and various related tasks.
Summer Hours
Monday - Thursday, 8am-4pm
Friday, 8am - 1pmTax Season (December though April)
Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pmRequired:
- No history of financial crimes or bankruptcy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel & Outlook
- Attention to detail
- Excellent data entry skills
- Ability to multitask and navigate a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills
Duties:
- Perform data entry and bookkeeping tasks with QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite
- Filing and organizing digital documents in an efficient and systematic manner
- Provide clerical work as assigned, such as answering phones, responding to emails, greeting clients
