• Tax Managers should have well-developed leadership, interpersonal, technology, communication, and analytical skills.
  
• Tax Managers are expected to develop on both a personal and professional level during their tenure with the company.
  

• Business entity and complex personal tax return preparation.
  
• Review tax returns and the work of the accounting staff, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and completeness & provide feedback to staff.
  
• Manage workloads and delegate tax work to staff. Monitor tax deadlines to ensure preparedness.
  
• Perform assessments and offer solutions to clients.
  
• Oversee various project-based work.
  
• Conduct research and planning then make recommendations to the Partners.
  
• Identify and recommend new business opportunities for the firm.
  
• Business development and manage client relationships.
  
• Provide assistance to Partners on project-based work.
  
• Acts as a resource for interns and tax staff & establishes good working relationships with all staff members.
  

• This position is based in our Oneonta office and may offer the flexibility to work remotely on an as-needed basis.
  
• This is a full-time position, forty (40) hours per week, with additional hours as needed. Additional hours required during tax season.
  
• Travel to client locations may be required. Mileage is reimbursable per the IRS mileage rate.
  

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in accounting is required with 5 years of experience.
  
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the accounting field is required.
  
• A CPA designation is preferred.
  
• Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations.
  
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft 365 and the ability to assimilate new programs.
  
• Strong work ethic and team player.
  
• High degree of professionalism and the ability to deal sensitively with confidential material.
  
• Strong interpersonal communication skills including verbal and written.
  
• Desire to develop and build client relationships, providing a positive client experience as well as to foster the overall growth of the client.
