The Montgomery Area School District is in need of a substitute school nurse starting for the 24/25 school year.

Job Description:

Part Time (Tuesday and Thursday during the school year) for the Health Room will be responsible for dispensing medications, providing first aid treatment, and carrying out other health related tasks during the school day.

Education and Experience:

Appropriate certification as a Licensed Practical Nurse, or Registered Nurse. Two years’ experience as a nurse. Current certifications in first aid, CPR, or other areas of need. Computer, typing, and office organization skills preferred. Experience working with children.

Performance Responsibilities:

Administers medications as prescribed by the students' physician.

1. Administers first aid, as needed.

2. Administers other medical treatments as prescribed.

3. Maintains confidentiality of personally identifiable information.

4. Participates in school health screenings within the district.

5. Carries out other duties as needed by the nurse or school principal.

Other Certifications:

• Relevant criminal histories and child abuse clearances.

• Highly qualified status

• Valid PA Driver's License

• Must exhibit high levels of problem-solving skills for overall efficiency and productivity in the school environment.

Mental Demands:

• Must have a steady response to unpredictable situations.

• Must demonstrate independent judgment and discretion in making decisions as well as collaboration skills and interpersonal skills in working with students, staff, and administration.

• Must be able to manage multiple student needs.

Current PA Criminal Clearance, PA Child Abuse, FBI Clearance, Act 168 Disclosure Form, and Health Physical with Mantoux TB test required upon hire.

Job Type: Part-time
