Teacher Aide partners with one or more teachers to prepare lessons and instruct students. Engages with students individually or in small groups to answer questions and facilitate activities. Being a Teacher Aide helps teachers resolve classroom issues and conflicts. Monitors and evaluates students' performance. Additionally, Teacher Aide typically requires an associate degree. May require state-specific teaching license. Typically requires Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Typically reports to a principal. The Teacher Aide works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. Head Start Teacher Aide
This position is a full time (10 months/year) position and is based at the Mounds Head Start in Mounds, Illinois. It does come with a benefit package (including personal, and sick time accrual, holidays, health and life insurance, and an employer sponsored cafeteria plan). This position is responsible for assisting the teacher with the academic, social-emotional growth, and development of all preschool aged children in their care.
Qualifications: At a minimum the applicant must be at least 19 years of age with a CDA or enrolled in a CDA program to be completed within 2 years or an Associate Degree with at least six hours in Early Childhood; prefer an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood with experience in an early childhood setting.
Pay Range: $14.35-$16.61
