May require state-specific teaching license. Typically requires Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Typically reports to a principal. The Teacher Aide works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job.   • Job Summary:

    The Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) - Georgia Academy for the Blind is recruiting for a High School Math Teacher.  Under general supervision, provides a comprehensive high school math education program to meet the needs of students who are visually impaired and/or multi-disabled in a residential school setting. Duties include but are not limited to the following:

    Description of Duties:

    • Responsibilities include organizing and teaching Math classes
    •  Assess and document students’ educational needs to develop and implement appropriate instructional plans
    •  Develop appropriate instructional materials
    •  Utilize acceptable and innovative instructional techniques and practices
    • Must maintain an effective learning environment
    •  Ensure that credentials remain current
    •  In some instances, may supervise additional classroom attendants
    • Must follow professional practices consistent with the system and compiles with state administration regulations and policies

     

    Consideration/interviews will begin as soon as a list of applicants is established.
