Puzzle Box Academy is looking to hire Teacher Aides to provide not only in-classroom support but also to provide teaching independently at times. Founded in 2014, Puzzle Box Academy provides a school for students who benefit from explicit instruction in the foundation skills of reading, writing, and mathematics.

Successful Puzzle Box Academy Teacher Aides will be positive and fast-paced in their support and interactions. They have clear expectations and thoroughly follow through on instructions. Must have a sincere enjoyment of preschool and elementary-aged children.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Assists the Director of Educational Services in performing specific duties as assigned or undertaking specialized tasks.
• Assists in establishing, maintaining, and managing student behavior.
• Assists the Director of Educational Services in creating an environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
• Alerts the Director of Educational Services to special needs of individual students.
• Escorts and transition children, as necessary.
• Provide students with positive feedback to encourage them and help them develop an appreciation in all instructional areas.
• Provide adapted instruction, individually & within small groups, that meet desired physical needs or goals.
• Be well-organized and knowledgeable of all materials to support students in the classroom.
• Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities through active supervision.
• Must be aware of a child’s physical or emotional wellbeing and report any signs of child abuse or neglect to administration for formal reporting.
• Encourage safety habits in work and organized game activities.
• Assist in the maintenance and storage of equipment.
• Set up equipment for class.
• Maintains order in the classroom; monitor students to keep them on tasks.
• Maintains 12 Continuing Education Units by the end of the school year.
• Will be able to proficiently execute the teaching techniques as outlined within the academic program.
• Perform related work as required.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Experience working with preschool age and elementary aged children
• High school diploma; Associates degree preferred
• RBT Certification a plus
• Valid CPR Certification
