Being a Teacher Aide helps teachers resolve classroom issues and conflicts. Monitors and evaluates students' performance. Additionally, Teacher Aide typically requires an associate degree. May require state-specific teaching license. Typically requires Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Typically reports to a principal. The Teacher Aide works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. Summary: Under the supervision of the classroom teacher, position assists teacher in providing quality early childhood education learning experiences. Desired Qualifications: BS/AA Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development Technology, or related discipline with one a minimum of eighteen (18) hours in Early Childhood Education, and (1) year experience working with preschool children. Minimum Qualifications: Child Development Credential (CDA), and currently pursuing an AA Degree in Early Childhood or related discipline.
