The Francis Howell School District is looking for both virtual and in-person experienced, passionate, and organized teachers to serve as elementary teachers for the 2022 Summer School Academy. The teachers will attend summer school professional development and open house, facilitate learning in their content area, plan meaningful, engaging lessons, uphold the district Code of Conduct, keep detailed attendance and academic records, and communicate with parents.
Salary: $3952 (6.5 hours/day, 19 days) plus PD day and Open House stipend

Summer School Teacher Job Responsibilities
JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE: Provide instruction to students. Facilitate student learning through activities designed to promote social, physical, and intellectual growth in the subject matter and skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible men and women. Create a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth. Establish rapport with students, parents, and other staff members.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree and appropriate Missouri certification
Curriculum & Instruction:

demonstrates knowledge of the subject matter and course objectives
- uses a variety of instructional practices and presentation styles to address student learning needs
- paces instruction to utilize class time wisely to implement curricular course outcomes
- develops instructional sequences and pacing appropriate for the scope and sequence of the subject matter
- ensures student have an understanding of course outcomes by planning, monitoring, and modifying lesson plans
Assessment:
- incorporates appropriate assessments to provide feedback on a student’s mastery of the standards
- uses assessment results to improve instruction
Classroom/School Management:
- assists the administration in implementing the FHSD Code of Conduct to provide a safe school and classroom environment conducive to learning
- communicates expected appropriate behavior and consequences of those behaviors
- assists the summer school administration in supervision duties
- builds rapport with students
Communication:
- keeps accurate, complete and correct records on students as it relates to attendance and academics in order to communicate to parents, students and administrators
- responds to administrative, parent, and student requests in a timely manner
Professionalism:
- maintains a cooperative working relationship with parents and co-workers to support the mission of the school district
- maintains professional relationship with students in order to effectively support them as learners
