Teacher High School prepares lesson plans and instructs students in an assigned secondary school. Develops and implements grade appropriate course work, activities, and assessments to meet the academic needs of children in a grade 6-12 classroom setting. Being a Teacher High School evaluates and monitors student's performance. Assesses and documents students' progress. Additionally, Teacher High School participates in development and implementation of Individual Education Plans for specific students. Resolves classroom issues and conflicts. May participate in implementing special programs for students. May supervise teaching assistants. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require state-specific teaching license. Typically requires Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Typically reports to a principal. The Teacher High School occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Northstar School is small, college-prep, private school in Arlington, Texas with a student-centered approach to education. - Plan and deliver engaging and effective high school English lessons that focus on preparing students for the rigors of a college degree
- Manage classroom dynamics and create a positive learning environment
- Utilize strong organizational skills to maintain lesson plans and student records
- Provide individualized support to students to enhance their understanding of grammar, improve their ability to write essays, and deepen their understanding of literary devices and literature
- Incorporate technology and innovative teaching methods to enhance student learning
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive curriculum and student progress tracking
- Participate in professional development opportunities to continuously improve teaching practices
