Additionally, Teacher High School participates in development and implementation of Individual Education Plans for specific students. Resolves classroom issues and conflicts. May participate in implementing special programs for students. May supervise teaching assistants. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require state-specific teaching license. Typically requires Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Typically reports to a principal. The Teacher High School occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.     PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:

    The Teacher, who reports directly to the School Principal, is responsible for teaching and educating students according to standards promulgated by the Arkansas Department of Education (“Department”), striving to teach and educate students according to the educational needs, abilities, and attainment potential of individual students entrusted to their care by the district.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    • Plans, prepares, and delivers lessons consistent with and in alignment with the district’s curricula.
    • Possesses and deploys various instructional strategies to meet different learning styles and specific needs of students assigned to their class.
    • Assesses, records, and reports all students' development, progress, attainment, and behavior.
    • Embraces an attitude of being a continual learner, facilitator of learning, and reflective practitioner.
    • Mentors, advises and encourages students as needed and appropriate.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university.
    • Valid Arkansas teaching certificate in secondary Computer Science preferred.
    • Teaching experience preferred.
    • Knowledge of online database management systems.
    • Evidence of ability to work with diverse student populations.
    • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
