Teacher High School jobs in Maryland

Archbishop Curley High School (Baltimore MD) is seeking a highly skilled individual to teach High School Science. The position will teach high school science to 9, 10, 11, and 12th grade students. The successful candidate must hold a current Maryland State Teaching Certificate and have experience working with high school-aged students. The teacher will be responsible for all science coursework including earth, life, and physical science.

Essential Functions

• Plan and implement daily lessons for students based on the school curriculum
• Manage all aspects of the classroom including but not limited to instruction, discipline, communication, etc.
• Perform assigned teacher duties on a rotating schedule with the rest of the faculty
• Communicate student progress with parents through in-person and online systems
• Engage in co-curricular programs

Position Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Science or related field.
• Qualifications needed for MSDE secondary certification in Biology or Science-related field.
• An ideal candidate will have experience teaching all levels of secondary Science and pedagogical knowledge that encourages critical thinking.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop assessments and curriculums that encourage students to think and write critically and creatively.
• The ability to integrate purposeful technology into your lessons.
