Ngā Tamariki Puāwai o Tāmaki Auckland Kindergarten Association, is looking for a qualified registered ECE kaiako in our Wesley Kindergarten.

We are open to new teachers or perhaps you are returning back to work as AKA operates on very similar terms as primary schools, meaning you have a break over the school holidays.

The kindergarten

Wesley Kindergarten focuses on cultural diversity and learning opportunities.

We focus on fostering a strong sense of community and whānau who are always encouraged to participate in the centre. At Wesley Kindergarten we are committed to providing our tamariki with a fun, caring and respectful, language rich environment where they are equipped to reach their full potential and grow their confidence as competent and capable learners of tomorrow.

This blended style of learning with kaiako inspired activities focus on teachings skills and enhancing tamariki learning.

With access to fantastic resources, you'll have the tools you need to create an innovative and enriching educational experience for our tamariki.

Our kaiako are dedicated to, and passionate about, early childhood education, and are looking forward to welcoming their new team member.

The role

Wesley Kindergarten is currently looking for a part time, Monday to Friday (20 hours) ECE Kaiako to join us to help us contribute to the high level of service that we are proud to provide our local community.

If you are a registered and certificated ECE Kaiako, this is a fantastic opportunity to be part of the AKA!

• be a team player, flexible and independent
• be someone who intrinsically understands our teaching philosophy of play-based learning
• Inclusive and sensitive to the diverse learning requirements of all ākonga
• share our commitment to the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi, informing and leading bicultural practice
• have demonstrable skills in relationship building and excellent communication skills
• have strong capability in planning, assessment and documentation
• value the use of ICT as a teaching tool, utilising a range of available technological resources to extend children's learning and improve teaching practice
• have a strong focus on inclusiveness, recognising and valuing the rich diversity of the tamariki, whānau and local community
• enjoy working directly with our tamariki and love getting your hands dirty
• be passionate about nature and committed to sustainability, which you naturally weave in to your teaching and learning experiences with children
