Teacher Kindergarten prepares lessons and instructs students in an assigned elementary school's kindergarten. Develops and implements activities to meet the academic, developmental, and social needs of children in kindergarten classroom setting. Being a Teacher Kindergarten monitors and guides classroom behavior. Resolves classroom issues and conflicts. Additionally, Teacher Kindergarten assesses and documents students' progress. Participates in development and implementation of Individual Education Plans for specific students. May participate in implementing special programs for students. May supervise teaching assistants. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require state-specific teaching license. Typically requires Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Typically reports to a principal. The Teacher Kindergarten occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. - Facilitate a safe and clean environment at all times.
- Create and follow a week-by-week lesson plan based on the curriculum provided.
- Take care of all general needs throughout the day, as needed.
- Keep open communication with parents, guardians and administration.
- Perform regular student evaluations.
- Change diapers and assist with toileting needs.
- Give age-appropriate instructions for educational and developmental growth.
- Follow the daily schedule provided by administration.
- Warm up and set out lunches and snacks.
- Monitor the children at all times, both inside and outside of the classroom.
- Provide age-appropriate positive discipline.
