What you'll do
This is entry-level to senior-level professional work teaching skilled and/or technical vocations such as building, industrial or mechanical trades, or business or service occupations to youth, of normal or impaired learning ability, in the custody of the Missouri Division of Youth Services.
The following tasks are the responsibility of the Vocational Education Instructor:
Knowledge of skilled or technical occupation in which instruction is presented. Ability to provide instruction in a state correctional, youth, and/or mental health facility.
Qualifications
Three or more years of experience and/or training in one of the building, industrial, or mechanical trades, or business or service occupation; possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency; and the ability to obtain (at the time of employment) an appropriate Temporary Authorization certificate (TAC), Initial Career Education Certificate (ICE), or Continuous Career Education Certificate (CCEC) issued by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
TO
Four or more years of experience as a Vocational Teacher with the Missouri Uniform Classification and Pay System, or in a comparable teaching position in a formal vocational training program for career or technical occupations; and possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency; and the ability to obtain (at the time of employment) an appropriate Temporary Authorization certificate (TAC), Initial Career Education Certificate (ICE), or Continuous Career Education Certificate (CCEC) issued by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
Special Requirement: Must possess a valid driver’s license
