Teacher Vocational Education is responsible for teaching vocational courses focusing on developing job-specific or industry-specific knowledge and skills. Develops and implements appropriate course work, activities, and assessments. Being a Teacher Vocational Education evaluates and monitors student's performance, and helps students identify and pursue personal goals. Assesses and documents students' progress. Additionally, Teacher Vocational Education typically requires a bachelor's degree. Requires a state-specific vocational teaching license. Typically requires Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Typically reports to a principal. The Teacher Vocational Education occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     What You Will Do:

    • Flexible work days Monday through Friday, must be available 7:30 AM - 4:30PM
    • Implement and follow lesson plans provided by the absent Teacher to create a cohesive and consistent learning experience for students
    • Manage the classroom effectively to encourage student participation, minimize distractions and maintain a positive learning environment
    • Adapt teaching methods to fit the needs of each individual student
    • Supervise students in and out of the classroom, including in the halls, on the playground and in the cafeteria
    • Provide in-class assignments based on the available lesson plan
    • For long-term substitutes: develop lesson plans with the help of department heads (admin or teachers) and assignments consistent with the regular teacher's past lesson plans

    Qualifications:

    • Associate degree or 60 College hours
    • Bachelors' degree or Teacher's certification (preferred but not required)
    • Computer literacy
    • Strong English verbal and written communication skills
    • Excellent interpersonal skills along with keeping a friendly and positive communication with students, parents and administrators.
    • Ability to lead and instruct students of all ages
    • General knowledge of several subjects
    • Ability to instruct and implement lesson plans as directed by the absent teacher or consult with principle or any other responsible staff if lesson plan is provided
    • Flexibility and critical-thinking skills
    • Ensure the safety of all students at all times
    • Maintain a clean, safe and respectful environment and perform all duties and procedures provided by the absent teacher

    Compensation:

    • $90-$120/day
    • Pay is based on certification/education
