We are looking for teaching assistants to support the lead classroom teacher in providing a rich and nurturing classroom environment for students in the classroom. The teacher assistant plays a crucial role in creating and encouraging a positive classroom environment, engaging in shared interactions with students and the lead teacher, interacting with students through small-group lessons and one-on-one interventions, and providing instructional and behavioral support in the classroom.

Requirements ( suggested not mandatory ):

• Experience working with young children
• Experience as an assistant teacher of children
• Must have effective and strong communication skills
• Must be willing to work flexible hours in order to meet the needs of the program
• An understanding of the Montessori educational philosophy
• Creativity
• Multitasking

Responsibilities and Duties

• Assist head teacher in maintaining the Montessori curriculum, project based and blended learning
• Assist in the preparation and maintenance of classroom during the school year
• Maintain order and cleanliness of classroom environment daily
• Work with head teacher to learn about philosophy of Montessori to further understand the goals of the class and the school
• Supervise children on the playground and in the classroom
• Observation
• Assist head teacher in preparation for parent conferences

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
