Johnson College is currently seeking part-time chemistry lab assistants to run daytime chemistry labs. These are on-campus assignments with face-to-face instruction for the fall 2024 semester. Lab assistants will be responsible for setting up, instructing, and cleaning up the labs and the laboratory setting. In addition, lab assistants will be responsible for creating and grading pre- and post-lab assessments and grading lab work. Also, lab assistants must be comfortable closely supervising students and instructing them on the application of math skills in the laboratory setting.
Qualified applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Education with a focus in Chemistry or closely-related fields (biochemistry, biology, physics, some engineering, environmental science) with demonstrated experience in chemical preparation and safe chemical practices. Applicants with other degrees may be considered if a concentration in Chemistry is provided. Previous experience supervising chemistry labs is preferred.
