    We are seeking an enthusiastic professional Director of Associate Degree Nursing Program - Instructor of Allied Health who is passionate about cultivating the school's mission and objectives through student instruction, guidance and review in order to ensure successful development of each student. Because of our commitment to community employment preference is given to residents who live in WV and New River r Community and Technical College service area.

    This position is a full-time position for the Lewisburg WV campus on site and will report directly to the Dean of Pre-professional programs. The position will work collaboratively with management, faculty and staff within the department and college to serve the best interests of the students. Some travel will be required to additional New River CTC locations.

    Job Summary

    The Director of Associate Degree Nursing (ADN Program serves as the academic leader and manages the administrative functions of the ADN Program. The Director of ADN Nursing Programs will provide the vision and leadership required to support and enhance the mission of the Associate Degree Nursing Program (ADN). The Director of ADN Program report to the Dean for Transfer and Pre-Professional Programs.

    Nature of Work

    The Director of ADN Program is responsible for supporting student success by creating an optimum learning environment. Developing curriculum; managing effective instructional activities; responding to student needs; developing and demonstrating professional cooperative work relationships with administration, faculty, and staff; supporting college administrative requirements; and maintaining competency in administrative legislation and instructional teaching field(s). He/she will be responsible for quality instruction and for effective participation and interest in the total affairs of the college.

    Distinguishing Characteristics

    Duties include but are not limited to the following:

    • assume responsibility for organizing and directing the program under the jurisdiction of the sponsoring agency;
    • seek recommendations from the ADN program advisory committee for establishing policies for the recruitment, selection, admission, progression, dismissal, and counseling of students;
    • schedule regular faculty conferences and maintain a written record of discussions and decisions;
    • establish a system to maintain essential records that will be used to evaluate student progress while the student is enrolled in the program and to follow up on the student after his or her graduation;
    • report, at least monthly, the status of the program to the sponsoring agency Dean for Transfer and Pre - Pre-Professional Programs and to the advisory committee as necessary;
    • visit clinical practice areas regularly to evaluate student experience and maintain communications with facility administration and staff;
    • develop funding proposals for the program and implement and monitor approved funding to ensure the continuous delivery of services;
    • participate in the hiring process and make recommendations for faculty appointments;
    • arrange for activities for selecting students, including testing and interviewing;
    • interpret changing practices in the utilization of the graduate associate degree nurse (survey and/or interview)and adjust the educational program to accommodate these changes;
    • develop short- and long-range objectives and strategies for strengthening the program;
    • establish criteria for the ongoing evaluation of the curriculum, the clinical facilities, and the faculty;
    • Either individually or in collaboration with the Dean for Transfer and Pre- Professional Programs of the sponsoring agency, evaluate and document, at least yearly, instructor's performance in terms of personal and professional achievement.
    • Evaluation and documentation of a new instructor’s performance in the clinical area.
    • The Director of ADN Program is not expected to carry a teaching load equal to other faculty, allowing for adequate time to conduct activities related to coordination of the nursing program.?

    Position requires a valid driver’s license and the ability to travel. Driver’s license is mentioned in the license table

    Professional Development

    • Compliance training is to be completed routinely and in a timely manner and as directed by the Dean for Transfer and Pre- Professional Programs.
    • Participate in additional professional development opportunities through LinkedIn Learning, Nurse Tim, and professional organization affiliations.
    • Maintain membership in professional nursing organizations.

    • Registered Nurse currently licensed in West Virginia.
    • Proven leadership abilities/skills.
    • Excellent instructional skills.
    • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial.
    • Must possess excellent communication skills: oral and written.
    • Ability and willingness to market the program and classes to industry stakeholders and potential clients.
    • Knowledge of leadership principles, including employee training and performance evaluation.
    • College level teaching experience

    Baccalaureate Degree - Required

    Master's Degree - Required

    Doctoral Degree - Preferred
