  • PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: •Coordinates the continuous review and revision of all vocational-technical curricula to ensure alignment with the state frameworks and industry standards while also promoting the attainment of industry-recognized credentials. •Observes and evaluates identified members of the vocational-technical staff in order to promote their professional growth and overall effectiveness. •Conducts an annual review and revision of all vocational-technical course offerings in the Program of Studies and recommends updates that ensure optimum learning for all students. •Completes an annual review of each vocational-technical program using the District’s Vocational-Technical Program Assessment tool. •Coordinates with vocational-technical program liaisons to develop annual budgets, 5-year plans to replace/upgrade essential equipment as well as a plan for any potential renovations to instructional spaces. •Oversees the continuous professional development activities of all vocational-technical staff through reviews of Individualized Professional Development Plans. •Oversees the activities of Program Advisory Committees, ensures the committee includes a diverse representation required by law, and that all Advisory Committee meetings are properly documented. •Supervises and evaluates the Coordinator of Cooperative Education and Placement. •Supervises the Directors of the Early Childhood Center, Veterinary Science Clinic, and MVP programs. •Supervises and collaborates with the Director of Continuing Education and Workforce Development in order to identify opportunities to implement practices and equipment that will benefit students at all training levels. •Collaborates with the Director of Academic Programs to promote instruction that integrates vocational-technical and academic-based curricula and skills. •Evaluate requests for off-campus construction and renovation work from the District’s sending communities and other non-profit community partners (e.g. Habitat for Humanity). •Coordinates with the Facilities Director to supervise all campus-wide renovations that will be completed by vocational-technical instructors and students. •Coordinates with student support staff and the Dean of Admissions regarding the placement of students in vocational-technical programs. •Works with the Director of Student Support Services to ensure that students receive the required instructional support to succeed in their vocational-technical program. •Collaborates with the Development Coordinator to identify, develop, and implement potential grant opportunities and other special projects that include vocational-technical initiatives. •Works with the Development Coordinator to develop partnerships with industry partners, post-secondary institutions, and apprenticeship programs to enrich the learning opportunities available to students. •Plans and presides over all vocational-technical staff meetings. •Participates in the recruitment, hiring, and retention of all vocational-technical instructors and support staff, including substitute teachers. •Ensures that all vocational-technical programs comply with federal and state safety and health requirements/plans, including MSDS and OSHA training. •Participates in the development of the District /School Improvement Plans. •Performs any other duties assigned by the Principal and/or the Superintendent-Director. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Duties will be performed inside the school building as well as off-site. The individual may be exposed to ultraviolet lights found in computer monitors and copying equipment. The individual may be exposed to chemicals used in copying equipment, printers, and other office supplies. The individual may be exposed to various hazards at work sites or while driving. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:This is a twelve-month position. Some evening and weekend hours may be required. Fringe benefits will be issued in accordance with the District Benefits Policy for Administrators. EVALUATION:Annually, in accordance with District policy and based on goals approved by the Principal and the Superintendent-Director.
