Technical Illustrator creates illustrations for use in technical manuals, product specifications, maintenance documents, advertisements, and other media. Utilizes a variety of graphic files, photo images, and sketches to create detailed technical illustrations. Being a Technical Illustrator produces 3-D, cutaway, or exploded views of objects. Familiar and proficient with graphic illustration and CAD software tools. Additionally, Technical Illustrator typically requires an associate degree in art, design, or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Technical Illustrator independently performs a wide range of complex duties under general guidance from supervisors. Essential Duties Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following :
make presentations to schools, organizations, and other contacts. Proficiency using social media for community outreach.
develop, prepare, and present recommendations and reports as requested.
provide initial orientation and training to new hires, especially adjunct faculty members new to the college.
coordinate for the preparation of new courses to be offered and submit to the Dean.
Minimum Qualifications Training : A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required.
