Technical Services Librarian for Taylor Public Library

The Taylor Public Library is looking for a Technical Services Librarian. This position requires the following:

Required:  Master’s degree in library science or library information science. Qualified applicants without an MLS degree may be hired with the stipulation that an MLS/MLIS degree from an American Library Association is obtained within two years of the beginning date for this position. Three years’ experience with copy and original cataloging and knowledge of current cataloging standards and practices desired. Experience with automated library systems and OCLC WorldCat required.

• Collaborates with staff to advance the library’s mission, vision, and core values.
• Respond to inquiries or problems concerning catalog records;
• Proficient using current Microsoft Office suite;
• Ability to operate standard office equipment including phone, photocopier, computer;
• Maintains and updates the Library’s social media as needed.
• Has experience related to e-rate, or ability to learn.
• Performs basic troubleshooting on public and staff computers.
• Acts as Librarian-in-Charge in the absence of the Library Director.
• Assists with annual inventory.
• Experience working with ILS platforms.
• Teaching or training experience.
• Working with diverse customers. 
• Ability to make presentations to the Taylor City Council, City leadership, the public, organizations, clubs, etc.
• Experience with grant writing.
• Experience with library reports. 
• Ability to work with library support groups and city staff.
• Great customer service skills.
