Being a Technical Producer - Web plans and reviews the navigational user interface design. Plans and reviews site architecture for new website products and features. Additionally, Technical Producer - Web troubleshoots, tests and oversees the launch of new products. Coordinates among cross-functional groups to identify challenges and recommends and implements solutions. Knowledgeable about commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field (i.e., HTML, JAVA, Mac, UNIX and Windows platforms). May require a bachelor's degree or its equivalent. WEB PRODUCER (Everett, WA)
The Daily Herald is looking for a multi-skilled journalist to play a crucial role on our digital news desk as a web producer and innovator. This job is Full-Time, on-site, and has multiple responsibilities including the editing and posting of news to the website; video and audio production; management of social media accounts and reader interaction; and creative presentation of news online. That last task is especially important: We want someone who can spot opportunities for innovation on the web using existing and new tools. That may mean creating a news-based listicle or supplementing a story with a sidebar, timeline, chronology, video, map, graphic, gallery, poll or other feature to increase reader interaction.
The winning candidate has a passion for journalism and a nose for news; has basic reporting and writing skills; is a strong wordsmith, with an ear for headlines; has good visual instincts; is comfortable with web services and data presentation and has a working knowledge of video/audio creation and editing. Experience with WordPress and Adobe Photoshop is a plus.
