JOB SUMMARY
This position performs as top level, and frequently final escalation, desktop technical support to all County departments, the general public, and various other customers through shared services.
The candidate must possess a high level of experience and proficiency to conduct troubleshooting procedures with the customer over the telephone, through remote tools, or in person.
The Technical Support Specialist II must enter work orders and follow up on work orders in the Help Desk system.
This position typically spends a great deal of time troubleshooting a problem and finding a resolution.
This position is deemed essential and may be required to work during inclement weather, natural disaster, other emergency situations and/or when the County offices are officially closed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or related field, and a minimum of three (3) years experience in the Information Technology field or;
Associate’s Degree in Computer Science, or related field, and a minimum of five (5) years experience in Information Technology field or;
An equivalent combination of acceptable training and experience which has provided the required knowledge, skills, ability and education adding up to seven (7) years.
REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
A valid driver's license is required. Since local travel is called for on a daily basis, the ability to operate and drive a vehicle is required.
Candidate must pass a criminal background check.

Occasionally moving computers
Occasionally lifting up to 30 pounds
Frequent travel to County-owned and lease facilities
