The Technical Support Specialist works out of the Distribution Center/RC Taylor and is responsible for the resolution of user problems relating to the network servers, software, and PC hardware. Responsible for identifying potential problems and help resolve any issues of the system users. This position works closely with the application administrators and developers. Coordinate problem resolution with third party software and hardware vendors. This position requires some UNIX system and distribution software knowledge in troubleshooting user issues.
Key Responsibilities:
Resolve problems for network software users
Assist users with 'how to' questions and other software related issues
Provide technical support for all hardware related issues for distribution center users
Overall responsibility for project implementation as it relates to technical support requirements
Provide network troubleshooting support
Develop knowledge of distribution software, familiarity with vendors, and ability to resolve problems while providing a vision for future development
Provide on-call support for distribution center systems
Assists with WAN and LAN installation and management activities
Perform all other duties as requested or required by upper management
Key Requirements:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred
A minimum of 6 months service in a technical support role is required; Due consideration will be given for previous job experience
The position requires knowledge of hardware and software interactions of the PC environment, current PC and computing software, data communications, and WAN and LAN networking protocols
Ability to function as a team member and get along with others
Ability to accept supervisory coaching related to performance, work habits and attitude
