Position Title: Subcontract Technical Representative
The purpose of this position is to provide support to National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Capital Projects for, program activities at Savannah River Site (SRS). This effort is in the form of support for construction projects, maintenance orders or assigned areas from the conceptual design stage through project completion and financial closing. Provide technical oversite of Subcontractor operations and to assist in identifying & resolving technical issues of varying complexity related to nuclear material operations. Safety is a primary responsibility for all employees working on and off SRS. Subcontractor shall obtain safety training, obey safety rules, and make safety an integral part of each task.
Performance Requirements:
Duties include but not limited to the following:
Provide technical support services to Savannah River Nuclear Solutions (SRNS) across several broad areas such as nuclear safety, criticality safety, nuclear systems, nuclear start-up, nuclear processing, and nuclear operations. Some major areas may include the following:
- Coordinate construction projects, maintenance orders or assigned areas from the conceptual design stage through project completion and financial closing to ensure safety, quality, technical baseline, budget, schedule, and site procedures and goals are established, implemented, and managed.
- Monitor the progress of projects and maintenance orders, identify problems / potential problems to the technical / cost / schedule baselines and implement the necessary corrective actions.
- Work with team members to ensure team, department, and divisional goals are met.
- Communicate in a clear, respectful manner with team and management.
- Collaborate and share with other team members to promote knowledge transfer.
- Ensure systems are in place for each project to track and identify productivity, cost, and schedule performance, and take corrective actions as necessary.
Subcontractor shall be responsible for the management and execution of assigned programs/projects in accordance with the requirements of SRNS, and the operating policies and principles. The Subcontractor is accountable for the execution of the work in accordance with the quality standards and required specifications for the project.for the project.
Experience / Skills:
- Practical experience in construction or construction management
- Produce written documents with clearly organized structure and grammar
- Foster a work environment that promotes safety, quality, openness, trust, communication, teamwork, and customer satisfaction.
- Plan work in a responsible manner, balancing company goals vs. schedule, budget, safety and resources.
- Ability to operate Windows Microsoft Office applications
Work Hours:
Work schedule will be a nominal 40-hour work week but can be part-time or with interruption between on-site requirements dependent on the support requirements necessary for the project.
Area Security Access:
An active DOE clearance is not initially required to perform assigned duties. Subcontract personnel must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOE "Q" security clearance. After award, the selected uncleared candidate may be required to apply for a DOE clearance.
