Sub Custodian Network Support Analyst

    SUMMARY

    The opening would be within the Network Management area. The group is responsible for the management and oversight of provider relationships and management of the company s global network of sub-custodians.

    The Junior Analyst will handle fewer complex inquiries. They will serve as an escalation point dealing directly with internal stakeholders and local agents regarding issues and ongoing service deficiencies. Additionally, they will assist team members in conducting fee negotiations, contract reviews, etc. to ensure that our providers meet our service level requirements and provide support during critical market-related deadlines. The Junior Analyst will assist in coordinating interactions between internal subject matter experts with the external network of sub-custodians as the need arises for information or resolution of any concern. In due course, they will be expected to build and maintaining strong relationships with our sub-custodian network and cultivating strategic internal and external partnerships.

    JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Relationship Management

    Assist with negotiating competitive agreements and service levels with sub-custodians.

    Act as a relationship contact for sub-custodians.

    Conduct regular and ongoing monitoring of sub-custodians.

    Assist in serving as an escalation point liaising with internal stakeholders and custodian banks regarding issues and ongoing service deficiencies.

    Coordinate with internal departments, to ensure quality service levels and timely resolution of issues and inquiries.

    Assist with testing bank proprietary systems specific for Network Management use, as and when they are released.

    Assist with creation and verification of all GTX related messaging to sub-custodians.

    Assist and back-up on the sub-custodian evaluation process.

    Manage a small group of low / no volume markets to learn the process.

    Assist as backup with market news dissemination, when necessary.

    Work on ad-hoc projects as they come about, such as collecting and organizing market data in spreadsheet for easy viewing.

    Set-up webinars and coordinate meeting invites.

    Due Diligence

    Maintain in-depth knowledge of local market practices and regulations related to Global Custody. Monitor global market developments and understand the impact on SMTBUSA and our clients.

    REQUIREMENTS

    1. A bachelor s degree or equivalent in business or economics preferred.

    2. PC Skills, (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access)

    3. 1-2 years financial industry experience.

    4. Good time management skills

    5. Good interpersonal and communications skills

    6. Able to work with minimum supervision (individual as well as team contributor)

    7. Broad knowledge of global markets helpful.

    8. Detail oriented.

    9. Ability to professionally represent the Bank.
