Job Summary
The successful candidate will provide customized industrial training to business and industry, including course design, development, and delivery. Occasional evenings and weekends as needed. This position will include travel within our 10-county SKYCTC service area.
Job Duties:
The Industrial Technical Trainer will work with the team of SKYCTC Workforce Liaisons to assess companies’ and individuals’ needs for customized training and design training plans including course content, hours required, schedule, and materials needed. The Industrial Technical Trainer will teach a variety of customized technical courses. They will create a learning environment that encourages student involvement and participation; document students’ attendance, participation, and academic progress; and evaluate the effectiveness of the delivered courses.
Technical skills needed for the position include a working knowledge of mechanical industrial equipment, AC/DC circuits, electric motor controls, and PLC’s. Preference may be given to candidates with experience in robotics and/or hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and three years of related work experience is preferred, but an Associate degree in an industrial-related program with 4 years of experience will also be considered. Industry experience is required. Candidate must demonstrate training/teaching experience, strong communication skills, ability to work well in a collaborative team environment; capacity to adapt in a fast-paced setting, excellent interpersonal communication, computer proficiency, and organizational skills.
