Technical Trainer creates and conducts technical training programs. Determines training objectives. Being a Technical Trainer writes training programs, including outline, text, handouts, and tests, and designs laboratory exercises. Lectures on the safety, installation, programming, maintenance, and repair of software, machinery, and equipment. Additionally, Technical Trainer administers written and practical exams and writes performance reports to evaluate trainees' performance. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Technical Trainer occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
    • Follow laboratory standard operating procedures
    • Perform repetitive tasks with a high degree of accuracy; multitask, prioritize, and work independently
    • Work with frequent interruptions and occasional changes in priorities
    • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
    • Repeatedly record data accurately
    • Continuous training and development for succession
    Minimum Requirements:
    • High School diploma or equivalent
    • Knowledge of basic math skills
    Technical Requirements:
    • High capacity for learning, retaining, and implementing processes of highly technical nature
    • Hands-on capabilities, and strong mechanical aptitude
    • Organizational skills and detail oriented
    • High degree of professionalism, diplomacy, integrity, and flexibility
    • Ability to work independently and perform tasks after verbal and written instruction
    • Ability to proficiently communicate orally and in writing
    Other miscellaneous qualities:
    • Experience working with highway/roadway construction materials
    • Available to travel
