Nikkiso ACD is an engineering and manufacturing company specializing in machinery designed to operate at cryogenic temperatures as low as – 420 degrees Fahrenheit, the boiling point of Liquid hydrogen. For over 50 years, Nikkiso ACD has specialized in centrifugal and reciprocating pumps as well as turbines for air separation. Nikkiso ACD has the most diversified product line in the industry covering nearly every application requiring pumps or turboexpanders.

This position is based at Nikkiso ACD located in Santa Ana, CA.

Position Summary

The Technical Trainer and Support Leader is responsible for providing all pump training and technical support to all of ACD customers worldwide, as well as new shop employees.

Essential Functions

• Work with ACD management to determine internal and external training needs
• Design, develop, implement, and evaluate training programs
  • Create learning objectives
  • Write course outlines
  • Produce course curriculum and participant materials
  • Update course materials to ensure as needed to ensure relevancy
  • Use adult learning techniques with a variety of delivery methods, such as lecture, demonstration, and discussion
  • Obtain feedback from participants regarding course effectiveness
• Prepare PowerPoint presentations for the ACD pump product line
• Serve as a technical expert or point of contact with customer for training
• Build relationships within ACD to stay current and maintain proficiency with pump products and services
• Deliver training to audiences of various size
• Maintain records for training activities
• Perform periodic onsite customer pump repairs and commissioning
• Diagnose and resolve customer pump issues
• Promote Customer Focus across the company
• Support QMS requirements in areas of responsibility for conformance with international requirements and state and federal regulations

Education and Experience

• Minimum of 5 years experience in a related role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial services company

• Minimum of 5 years experience with ACD cryogenic pumps (manufacturing and repair)
• Minimum of 5 years experience in field service- cryogenic pumps and panels
• Bachelor’s or Masters’ degree preferred

Work Environment and Physical Demands

• Stand, walk, sit, talk, hear, type, and write

• Reach with hands and arms, bend, stand on a stool or climb, and use fingers and hands to feel objects, tools, or controls
• Use standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, printers, copiers, etc.
• Lift files and open desk drawers and filing cabinets
• Work in both office and shop environments at customer and company sites
• Lift 50-100 pouncs
• Conditions may vary at each location, yet are essentially the same as listed
• Travel

Environmental Safety Requirements

• Complete safety training requirements
• Participate in other training as directed by the company or manager
• Wear Nikkiso approved PPE as needed
• Ensure all safety requirements and PPE requirements are enforced as needed
