The Technical Trainer is the primary operational trainer at the Roseboro, NC training center. Their primary mission is to partner with operational managers to enhance the company’s ability to meet safety and technical standards and promote Parker Gas Company’s Safety 24/7 focus through sound training. They develop training schedules and deliver said training at the Roseboro training center, company offices, in the field, as well as remotely via the PERC Learning Management System (LMS).
At times they will work shoulder to shoulder with field employees to improve the quality and consistency of service and delivery of Parker Gas and RapidXchange products and services. From March to October each year this is achieved by developing and delivering live, remote, or online training. From October through February each year this is achieved as a hybrid role, with 1 day each week dedicated to developing and fostering training, with the balance of the week conducting delivery or service operations in the field.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Serves as the primary safety/technical trainer for the company, developing and fostering the delivery of the following training:
- Companywide monthly safety training.
- Smith driver trainer.
- Parker Gas Service Technician technical training – NFPA 54, 58, NC code and OEM training.
- Parker Gas Delivery Driver technical training – NFPA 54, 58, NC code and OEM training.
- RapidXchange Cylinder Delivery Driver training.
- RapidXchange production facility employee training.
- CETP (all levels).
- Other technical training as deemed necessary.
- From Oct-March - complete bulk and cylinder delivery routes in areas of most need, primarily focused on bulk retail propane delivery in NC, 4 days per week, while foster/maintain training programs 1 day per week.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Working knowledge of NFPA 54 & 58, NC codes.
- Knowledge of propane, or related, systems including bulk plants, installations, regulators, piping systems, dispensers, vaporizers & compliance standards
- Aptitude for computer systems, including experience in Microsoft Windows applications and the PERC Learning Management System (LMS).
- Aptitude and enthusiasm for teaching others and ability to speak on safety topics in a group setting.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to influence others and take the necessary actions to achieve the desired results.
- Valid CDL with Hazmat Endorsement
Education and Experience Required:
- Propane, industrial gas, or related chemical industry work experience preferred.
- NC gasfitter license. (Must obtain within 1 year of selection.)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience within the propane industry desirable.
- P.E.R.C. - Certified Employee Training Program Basic Principle and Practices.
- Other industry or related training desirable.
