    For over 100 years, Bard Manufacturing Company has been a family owned and operated company, leading the HVAC industry in the modular, classroom, equipment shelter, and other light commercial markets. With production facilities in Ohio, Georgia, and Mexico, we service our customers both nationwide and internationally by designing and manufacturing cutting-edge engineered products.

    Scope and Responsibilities:

    The Technical Trainer is an integral member of the sales and marketing department. This employee’s role is to recruit and retain clients by building relationships founded upon core technical competence. This will normally be accomplished via training classes held in the Bard training facility, or in a facility provided by the customer requesting technical education. Additionally, this person is also expected to be present at national industry-related functions. The Technical Trainer will create the instructional materials, coordinate the classes, orchestrate video training and internet training, and implement a C.E.U certification program at Bard Manufacturing. This person must maintain the required departmental paperwork, and stay current with all products, parts sales, pricing, and policies. In off times or down times, this person may be required to assist with duties in the technical services department.

    Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Provides engaging classroom instruction to customers on Bard products, including maintenance, installation, and repair.
    • Prepares and delivers classroom presentations on subjects relating to Bard HVAC equipment.
    • Familiar with internet-based instruction techniques.
    • Can create video and audio technical presentations.
    • Willing and able to travel, including overnight stays.
    • Keeps informed on all Bard equipment and parts which require a complete in-depth understanding of the total product line.
    • Basic skills needed to attain the respect of students are: troubleshooting problems, assisting with equipment application questions, suggesting parts and/or offering quick, quality technical advice.
    • Is responsible for keeping attendance databases and updating necessary personnel and/or businesses regarding certification.
    • In addition, this person may occasionally be asked to take technical phone calls in a backup role; when the situation requires.
    • Perform all other duties, as assigned.

    Experience and Skills:

    The successful candidate will possess the following skills/abilities:

    • Bachelor’s degree in education/engineering or related field with HVAC technical experience, or 7 years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Excellent oral communication skills
    • Ability to work under pressure and/or meet deadlines.
    • Ability to travel up to 60% of the time.
    • Experience in troubleshooting HVAC or related equipment and providing instruction and training to others on this subject.
