Additionally, Technical Trainer, Sr. administers written and practical exams and writes performance reports to evaluate trainees' performance. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to an manager. The Technical Trainer, Sr. work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.     As a Technical Trainer, you are responsible for executing the training programs and overseeing the development of all Standard Work Procedures and Standard Operating Procedures for the Maintenance and Reliability department. You will create and facilitate training via classroom, intranet, workshops, and vendor demonstrations, qualifying employees for level advancement and identifying opportunities for improvement. The Technical Trainer is key in developing sustainable programs and processes that enhance employees’ skills, performance, productivity, and quality of work.

    • 5 years in a multi-skilled maintenance background preferred
    • Specific knowledge in hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanics, and basic electrical repair
    • Prior training and certification in the following areas are highly desirable: vibration analysis, electrical/mechanical, bearing training, conveyor systems, pumps, fans, screening equipment
    • Hands-on instructor/teaching experience
    • Strong MS Office skills – Word, PowerPoint, Excel
    • Experience building and managing training programs from beginning to end
    • Strong knowledge of OSHA and safety regulations


    What you'll do in the role:
    • Acclimate new employees in the department to all aspects of their job. Train on how to safely perform job tasks
    • Create measures and metrics to measure success of the program
    • Create and maintain training calendars and schedules, and proactively engage the organization in developing consistent skill and talent development programs to ensure employees are equipped to accomplish their assigned tasks successfully
    • Seek out leading technology trends to improve training processes such as eLearning, mobile learning, video-based training, virtual learning environments, and adaptive learning
    • Utilize a continuous improvement/reliability mindset to incorporate new processes and technologies to drive improvement in the M&R department
    • Oversee the M&R Training Program – help create and facilitate training presentations
    • Track and document all training that personnel attend
    • Facilitate a qualifications process and update key stakeholders on the outcome
    • Assess employees’ current knowledge level and business needs to identify training opportunities
    • Determine overall effectiveness of programs and training by listening to feedback and making improvements
    • Participate in meetings for specifying equipment and create applicable training
    • Supports new M&R hires and participates in onboarding and assimilation
    • Utilize all available resources – vendors, suppliers, engineers and SME's
    • Perform other duties as needed


    Your environment:
    • Work will be completed in an outdoor chemical manufacturing facility. This position is located in Hallam, NE. Nebraska residency is required.
