    The HVAC Trainer & Technical Manager will be responsible for developing and delivering comprehensive training programs to our customers, their technicians, and First Supply employees. The role will be responsible for designing training plans for both brand specific products that First Supply sells and universal training courses based on the customer’s needs. The HVAC Trainer & Technical Manager also serves as the technical lead for the company which includes holding the highest level of manufacturer certifications. As the technical lead the role will provide technical support and field assistance to contractors and partners; ensuring they are equipped with the latest industry knowledge and best practices. In addition, the role will also manage all significant warranty issues.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Develop comprehensive training programs and materials for HVAC technicians, installers, customers, and First Supply employees tailored to the specific needs of our company.
    • Partner with channel management and regional leadership on curriculum development, customer acquisition and retention initiatives.
    • Deliver engaging and informative training sessions, workshops, and seminars both in-person and virtually to various groups, ensuring effective knowledge transfer and understanding of complex HVAC concepts.
    • Prepare the necessary equipment and documents for each training course. Including but not limited to PowerPoint presentations, on-line video and/or podcasts, hands-on materials, tools, equipment, and associated paperwork with each course.
    • Conduct regular assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make necessary adjustments to improve their impact and relevance.
    • Maintain training records, training schedules/calendars, supplies and track costs.
    • Actively participant in virtual and/or in-person “Training Summits” where HVAC Managers collaborate to decide on new curriculum and improve existing curriculum.
    • Stay updated with the latest advancements, trends, and regulations in the HVAC industry and incorporate this knowledge into the training curriculum. This includes attending routine factory certification training opportunities.
    • Assist and support First Supply’s HVAC technical support team as needed.
    • Manage significant warranty issues with vendors.
    • Other duties/responsibilities as assigned by the Corporate HVAC Channel Manager.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Technology, or a related field preferred.
    • 5 years of HVAC and/or refrigeration knowledge and experience required. 10 years of industry experience preferred.
    • Relevant certifications or licenses are a plus.
    • Prior experience in designing and conducting training programs, workshops, or educational sessions for adult learners preferred.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information in a clear and understandable manner.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Proficiency in using training tools, technologies, and software for creating engaging and interactive learning experiences.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Microsoft Teams, and Excel.
    • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
    • ability to read, speak, understand and write English.
