Technical Training Manager leads the design and delivery of technical training programs. Determines training objectives by conducting analysis of overall needs and specific skill or knowledge gaps. Being a Technical Training Manager manages the development of training programs and materials including outlines, text, handouts, hands on exercises, and training evaluations. Establishes processes to monitor results and collect feedback on training instructors to determine effectiveness and identify areas for improvement. Additionally, Technical Training Manager assesses and manages any contractors utilized to deliver specialized training. May manage IT, product, or equipment training depending on the industry and setting. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to an director. The Technical Training Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Technical Training Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     To effectively manage the Tooling Team, IM Process Engineering Team, IM Process Technical Team, and Robotics/Automation Team to ensure the safe and efficient production of quality parts through proper tool maintenance, creation and maintenance of stable processes, adherence to standard work, and a relentless pursuit of continuous improvement.

    Qualifications:

    • A Bachelors degree in Engineering, Technical Management or similarly related field is required.

    Main duties

    • Work with the Injection Molding Department overseeing the Tooling, Process, and Robotics/Automation teams to ensure tool performance and processes parameters are followed, assist production needs and requirements, and drive continuous improvement.
    • Ensure standard operating procedures and project guidelines are in place
    • Task allocation and performance evaluation of team members
    • Project scheduling and resource management
    • Planning, budgeting and reporting on projects make presentations on project status, present monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to Injection Molding Director.
    • Meet with production, quality, customer and suppliers and gather requirements, conduct regular team meetings and track project progress
    • Interview candidates and hire resources
    • Conduct performance reviews of team members and identify areas of improvement, give feedback and recommend for promotions or salary increments
    • Estimate project budgets, coordinate with finance department for funds and plan for purchasing of equipment and hardware in a cost-effective way
    • Provide an efficient working atmosphere to project teams and ensure objectives are met within stipulated time
    • Drive culture of colaboration to establish a an effective self driven work force without sacrificing accountability.

    Technical

    • Must ensure teams follow the correct procedures, policies and documentation requirements across project phases within the production shop floor arena.
    • Able to guide the team through the production development, testing and implementation stages and review the completed work effectively
    • Provide direction and technical expertise in design, development and systems integration
    • Able to make quick decisions and solve technical problems to provide an efficient environment for project implementation
    • Identify resource and equipment requirements, efficient capacity planning and manage software and hardware availability
    • Must provide technical training to teams when required and serve as a technical mentor to team members

    Management

    • Work with Plant I ngineering group to ensure new programs launches are flawlessly executed.
    • Communication from Technical Team to production is smooth and seamless.
    • Develop good relations with Maintenance, PD, and ME to work together on issues and come up with a long term solution to all repairs.
