Technical Writer jobs in Saint Cloud, MN

We are looking for a Technical Writer to work onsite in Brainard, MN at our client’s facility. You will work with key staff to create electronic versions of the client’s “work-scopes”. These are essentially instructions to perform complete rebuilds of certain types of heavy equipment from start to finish. In many cases, you would work with SME’s in the shop to document the process. In other cases, documentation already exists in hard-copy form. Those documents would need to be updated & formatted with staff assistance. At any given time, there are anywhere from 12 to 14 different machine types for which this type of documentation will need to be created.

This position requires one or more years of experience creating documentation, preferably technical documentation of machines and processes. Strong organizational skills are a must. Skills in simple graphic and layout design are a plus. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential. Expertise in MS Office, particularly with Word, is required. Bachelors's degree is preferred.

Work hours for this assignment are 7 or 8am to 2pm onsite and the rest of the time can be remote each day. (6 hours in the office and 2 hours remote).
