Stratascorp has an opening for a supervisory technical writer supporting Navy's Fleet Systems Engineering Team (FSET). This is San Diego-based position supporting Navy Information Warfare Systems Command (NAVWAR) Fleet Readiness Directorate (FRD).The FSET program supports the effective operation of all NAVWAR afloat and ashore C4I systems throughout the entire Operational Fleet Readiness Plan (OFRP) cycle. The FSET program is also responsible for supplying senior technical advisors and engineers to provide end-to-end C4I systems engineering support at global locations.
The FSET Team is responsible for maintaining the Operational Fleet Readiness Plan (OFRP) across the Navy's fleet and supporting the introduction of new capabilities as directed.
As a supervisory technical writer, you will develop, write, and edit material for reports, manuals, briefs, proposals, instructions books, catalogs, and related technical and administrative publications. You will apply these skills to develop methods and procedures, installation, operation, and maintenance of machinery and other equipment. You will oversee the work of other Technical Writers as they observe production, developmental, and experimental activities to document operating procedure and detail. You will interview production and engineering personnel and read journals, reports, and other material to become familiar with product technologies and production methods. You will organize material and complete writing assignments according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology. As part of your oversight, you will review published materials and recommend revisions or changes in scope, format, content, and methods of work and revisions.
* Three (3) years of work-related experience in technical writing/editing
