Develops standard documentation methods to effectively communicate product concepts and technical information. Being a Technical Writing Director coordinates with other teams and departments to determine technical writing needs. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Technical Writing Director typically reports to a senior manager or top management. The Technical Writing Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Minimum Qualifications: Applicant must possess either MA or MS in the following areas: Applied Linguistics, Education, English, ESL, Foreign Languages, Language Acquisition, Latin American Studies, Linguistics or, TESOL. If applicant has a MA/MS in English, Reading, Education, Foreign Language, or related field then the applicant must also meet 2 of the following: Graduate-level TESOL endorsement or certification, Undergraduate TESOL endorsement or certification with experience teaching TESOL, Doctoral-level research pertaining to language acquisition and/or TESOL pedagogy, Teaching and/or leadership within programs targeting speakers of other languages.
