Job Description Summary

Online Writing Tutors review Liberty University Online student papers for content development, organization, formatting, and grammar as well as conduct one-on-one tutorials with online students via computer-to-computer calls.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

90% : Conduct targeted draft reviews. Conduct full draft reviews.

10% : Conduct real-time tutoring sessions via Skype or a similar program. Read and respond to one spot-check of their work each term.

Maintain open communication with supervisors.

Qualifications, Credentials, and Competencies

Minimum Qualifications :

1. Enrolled in anLUOgraduate or post graduate-level degree program OR has an earned graduate or post-graduate degree from an accredited institutionANDat least one earned degree from a Liberty Online program

2. U.S. Citizen with a permanent U.S. residence

4. Willing to work year round

5. Own computer equipped with Windows 10 or higher or a recent Mac operating system, microphone, headset or speakers, and recent version of MS Word

6. Strong in-home internet connection

7. Excellent writing, grammar, and people skills

8. Ability to learn technology quickly

9. Knowledge of how to use MS Word well

10. Ability to work well under pressure, follow written instructions, and take initiative when needed

11. Strong sense of self-discipline and good time management skills

12. Desire to help other students succeed

13. Extensive understanding of the newest editions ofAPAalone orAPAand Turabian formatting or expertise in Turabian orAMAformats with a willingness to thoroughly learnAPA

14. Works well and effectively communicates with students, faculty, and staff

Preferred Qualifications

1. Previous tutoring experience.

2. Previous online tutoring experience.

3. Undergraduate degree from Liberty Online.
