MTSI is seeking an Ops Research Analyst/Interoperability SME with a TS/SCI clearance to provide support to a Government Office at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia. The subject matter expert’s primary focus will be to provide advice and assistance to leadership in the areas of mission systems, communications systems and interoperability across the DoD and other government agencies. Use experience, technical education, resources, and creativity to analyze a broad spectrum of technologies for military applications that further the Government’s acquisition strategy goals and objectives managed by AFLCMC.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES*
• Assist with requirements for the development of interoperable, affordable, responsive, and sustainable communications systems which integrate with joint, interagency and service mission partners.
• Apply knowledge of cyber, cryptography and security principles to diagnose vulnerabilities, set priorities to protect mission systems and establish secure communications.
• Provide analytical expertise to the Government Office for “kill chain” analysis, concept and requirements generation to ensure communication systems will be interoperable and meet platform mission needs.
• Employ operational communication system expertise to assist operational users and provide constant liaison between operational users and product centers/program offices.
• Operate in multidisciplinary teams of industry, government and military personnel consisting of engineers, analysts, scientists, pilots and other aircrew.
• Regularly interface with Air Force Major Commands, other DoD Services and Government organizations, Federally Funded Research & Development Centers and Industry when performing duties.
• 10 years of data links and communications engineering experience, 5 years of which must be in the DoD related to technical theory of tactical data-links, airborne communication and computing architectures, and information exchange requirements.
• Expertise in the following: DoD aerial data links, DoD aerial data link message standards, aerial networks, over-the-air communications architectures, RF communications and systems.
• Knowledge and experience in the integration, testing, and deployment of Air Force systems and their associated data links, to include definition of data link interoperability, interfaces, and verification and test assessment requirements.
• Ability to participate on an agile software development team designing and building advanced, state-of-the-art, aircraft mission and communications systems.
• Strong communication skills – written and verbal
• Good analytical and planning skills.
• Ability to learn quickly and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Must possess an active Top Secret security clearance. Duties will require unescorted entry and work within classified SAP and SCI facilities.
• Must have 36 months or more of experience in a SAP environment within the last 6 years
