Position Overview
Riverside Research is seeking a Logistics and Supply Chain Manager to work on significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles. Requires conceptual thinking to understand advanced issues and implications. Exercises independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Accountable for results, which may impact the entire function. Creates formal networks involving coordination among groups. Focuses on providing thought leadership and works on broader organization projects, which requires understanding of wider business. Requires conveying advanced information and persuading several diverse stakeholders/audiences. Recognized internally as a subject matter expert. May direct the activities of others.
Responsibilities
- Advisor to program managers on all logistics issues concerning policies, procedures, and analyses for programs
- Prepare and present logistics support briefings to high headquarter AF and DOD agency personnel, as required
- Collaborate with DoD industry partners at selectively manned group
- Be the focal point for new state-of-the-art logistics programs to enhance logistics processes
- Provide oversight and leadership to the Government mandated logistics/maintenance programs
- Provide oversight and leadership of capabilities to ensure positive exploitation for parts tracking and movement
- Be vigilant in identifying new logistics ideas and make recommendations based on research and analysis
- Evaluate technical and cost proposals for scope and validity
- Analyzes work to be performed, make comparisons with similar efforts, and make requirement recommendations
- Conduct technical evaluation to ensure operational, safety, test, and logistics requirements is properly addressed
- Accountable for optimum management of Logistics resources to support and attain Squadron mission and goals
- Act as liaison between using activities and prime contractor on all logistics matters
- Ensure timely support provided to field units; maintains continuous surveillance; set priorities equal to urgency
- Develop logistics support plans
- Determines consistent R&M goals for unique systems with limited asset availability and repair restrictions
- Negotiates logistics support plans with major commands for use in obtaining support from the contractor’s facility and ensure interface procedures are acceptable, effective, and efficient
- Assist in developing maintenance and repair concepts for systems and equipment for each level of repair
- Develop procedures for the contractor to follow to the logistical support services to maintain accountability, receive, issue, store, dispose, inventory, and protect assets with maximum control and auditable records
- Ensure that interface and use of contractor procedures will result in minimum cost and maximum efficiency
- Perform annual review of logistics support plan and rewrite as necessary
- Coordinate annual review on peculiar (non-stocklisted) excess with appropriate functions
- Request disposition for stocklisted excess from applicable source of supply and take required action
- Develop requisition computations to ensure demand levels are accurate and reduce pipeline time
- Maintain continuous surveillance to ensure logistics procedures and current and followed by the contractor
- Develop acquisition plans; determine and propose procurement strategies which encompass all aspects of program
- Primary focal point for Military Equipment Valuation (MEV) and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) reporting criteria
- Develop system to track and report all asset movement and account value as stipulated by the MEV and CFO
- Provide account value and MEV information through the chain of command to the CFO when required
- Conduct periodic analyses as determined by Logistics Manager and assist in quality assurance inspections of the contract facility to ensure compliance with regulations and standards
- Prepare monthly statistics report to the Program Manager and the 645 Aeronautical Systems Group (645 AESG)
- Prepare comprehensive analysis/inspection report identifying areas for improvement and recommended solutions
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree, 6 years with a Master’s degree, a PhD with 3 years’ experience or equivalent experience is typically required for an employee at this level.
- Ideally, Bachelors and/or Masters degree in business or related field required for dealing with complex contractor issues
Active TOP Secret/SCI Security Clearance
USAF maintenance and/or logistical experience with working knowledge of specialized management, acquisition, reliability and maintainability, and policies to adequately monitor contract performance, and standard systems
Proven record in problem solving, decision making, and financial, logistics and program management abilities
Able to conduct extensive analyses of account integrity and provide corrective action/recommendations
Able to compile/interpret complex metrics data and provide response to requesting activities and higher commands
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Products
Proficient in the use of the Big Safari Inventory Program
Experience in Air Force deployments (ADVON and sustainment)
Knowledgeable of AFI 23-110 VOL I and VOL II

$120,000 - $128,000 This represents the typical compensation range for this position based on experience, location and other factors.
