Sonoma Technology is looking for an enthusiastic Technical Project Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will manage air quality monitoring projects at the direction of Sonoma Technology’s Refinery Monitoring Department Manager. They will support the continued growth of the Refinery Monitoring program and may provide auxiliary support to other business areas on an as-needed basis. The desired work location is either Los Angles or the North Bay of the San Francisco Bay Area in California. Remote work is possible depending on the candidate.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply Sonoma Technology best practices to successfully manage technical projects
• Meet or exceed project objectives within budget, schedule, and staffing constraints
• Prepare and distribute project plans at the start of new projects
• Create and maintain milestone lists for tasks and deliverables
• Oversee procurement activities, including issuing purchase orders
• Review and approve project invoices and prepare accompanying progress reports
• Track accrued costs and revenue for projects, providing regular updates to the Program Lead
• Direct project staff and communicate the context of project tasks and completion timelines
• Ensure overall project quality and client satisfaction
• Coordinate with technical experts and staff managers to assemble level-of-effort (LOE) estimates of costs and timelines for new projects

Required Qualifications and Skills

• A BA or BS degree in either business or physical science
• Previous project management experience
• Proficiency with computer hardware and software
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
• A high level of accuracy, efficiency, and attention to detail
• The ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent organizational, time management, problem solving, and interpersonal skills
• Aptitude for working both collaboratively and independently as required

Desired Qualifications

• An MBA or MS degree in business or physical science
• Project management certification
• Experience with communication of technical concepts to a broad audience
• A strong interest in environmental projects

Salary Range: $80,000 to $120,000
