    Founded in 1881, Capewell is a leading designer, manufacturer, and distributor of safety, tactical, parachute, and aerial delivery products for the defense, public safety, and law enforcement communities. Operating out of Meadow of Dan, Virginia and South Windsor, Connecticut, the company offers four core product segments of mission-critical components and systems: Life Support & Safety Products, Aerial Delivery Systems & Parachute Related, Timers & Sensors, and Technical Services. Capewell also offers a robust portfolio of capabilities and manufacturing techniques, including Technical Sewing and RF Welding, Machining, Precision Assembly, and Technical Services/Engineering/Distribution. Capewell is currently seeking qualified candidates for an Information Technology Manager position. This position is in our Meadows of Dan, VA location. Job description is given below:
    POSITION SUMMARY: The Information Technology Manager will manage Capewell Virginia IT efforts, through management of a 3rd party MSP provider (networks), and a 3rd party Cyber Security provider (protection/CMMC), while being able to provide the company with ‘help-desk’ functions for the team on a daily basis (Ararat/Meadow of Dan).
    The Capewell VA IT Manager is an onsite role with oversight of all technology used at each Capewell VA location to ensure seamless support to all aspects of the business. This role ensures fully functioning and responsive software and enablers that also support the daily functionality of Capewell, to include the company ERP (Visual or other provider), Salesforce, a HRIS, and a host of engineering and finance tools. This position is responsible for driving actions and activities of the MSP, Cyber Security, and other enablers, to implement best practices for optimizing infrastructure, policies, and operational costs to improve system performance.
    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Managing daily IT operations and activities to provide the Company uninterrupted services to execute their responsibilities.
    • Work with support activities to develop and operationalize the Company’s information technology strategy. Provide appropriate recommendations to leadership for both short and long-term objectives and goals.
    • Provide ‘help-desk’ like capabilities to Capewell VA employees in partnership with MSP provider virtual help desk capabilities; Provide expert advice and assist employees with IT issues. Ensure resolution and track issues and fixes.
    • Conducting continuous assessments of IT networks and cyber security practices; Make recommendations for improvements to leadership.
    • Oversee IT Compliance ensuring information systems, platforms, and operating procedures are in accordance with corporate standards for efficiency, accuracy and security.
    • Proactively oversee and supervise Cyber Security provider path to CMMC/NIST compliance.
    • Developing and implementing business continuity plans to ensure service is continuous regardless of triggering event.
    • Report malicious cyber activities immediately to Company Leadership. Oversee damage assessment, repair, mitigation, and return to normal operations.
    • Work with providers to oversee security audits and risk assessments; report results to leadership.
    • Gain and maintain accountability for every piece of IT equipment in the Company; complete detailed inventories of all hardware and software; conduct periodic accountability checks to ensure no lost or missing equipment; ensure employees are signed for (accountable for) IT equipment under their purview/responsibility; develop a plan for quarterly destruction or removal of old/obsolete equipment.
    • Maintain clean and orderly workspaces, equipment storage areas, and server lockers.
    • In coordination with Accounting/Finance Team, provide detailed tracking of all IT costs on a monthly basis. Participate in annual budgeting process to ensure IT costs are accurately projected across the coming year.
    • Seek and evaluate emerging technologies and educate business stakeholders on the potential for new technologies to deliver return on investment by enabling business innovation, efficiency, and competitive advantage.
    • Act as Company ERP system SME (Visual or other), coordinating and working with 3rd party vendor in change execution/updates/projects related to the ERP system (Visual or other). Synchronizing with integration provider and all employees to maximize the use/benefits of ERP (Visual or other).
    • Responsible for Company Cell Phone management (vendor and assets), as well as printer/copier contracts/vendor interface, and Wi-Fi contract/provisions, and IT interfaces with Security infrastructure (cameras/alarms).

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and SKILLS:

    • A minimum of seven years in an IT role and at least two years in a management capacity and/or synchronization role with other IT provider capabilities.
    • Excellent understanding of current computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, and telecommunications systems.
    • Experience in ERP systems (Visual highly preferred) and Salesforce (preferred).
    • Understanding of the business impact of IT technologies and policies.
    • Previous experience implementing technical security controls; CMMC/NIST experience is highly desired.
