    Alamon, Inc. is currently hiring a Level 1 Telecommunications Technician to join the Wireless Department. The Level 1 Telecommunication Technician will perform all duties pertaining to the installation and general upkeep of customers’ telecommunication systems in a central office setting. Must possess ROADM Fiber Ring experience and have a central office telecommunication skill set. The Level 1 Telecommunication Installer needs to be able to write MOP’s, DMOP’s and all associated paperwork required for the job. Must be a self-starter who provides high-quality workmanship and has excellent customer service skills both in person and over the phone and the ability to multitask under pressure. This position requires extensive travel.

    Job Description:
    • Install, maintain, and upgrade telecommunication equipment in a central office setting.
    • Respond to service outages and disruptions.
    • Assist in upgrading and replacing outdated and malfunctioning equipment.
    • Adhere to all government and company safety regulations.
    • Perform quality control checks to verify proper functioning of equipment and connections.
    • Perform routine maintenance tasks.
    • Ability to work effectively with engineers, technicians, and customers.
    • Understand how to use hand tools, test equipment, and possess the ability to use a computer to interface with the customers’ products.
    • Possess a general understanding of how to read and interpret floor plans, rack drawings, and customer-provided work orders.
    • Document all maintenance and repair activities including equipment changes, upgrades and troubleshooting steps.
    • Work effectively with technicians, management, and customers.
    • Communicate effectively, including proficiency in written and verbal communications, with strong listening skills.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
    Minimum Position Qualifications:
    • Possess a current driver’s license and vehicle insurance.
    • Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel.
    • Pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
    • Must be proficient with a laptop.
    • Possess excellent time-management skills and multitasking abilities.
    • Possess a strong attention to detail and have a passion for accuracy.
    • Ability to take initiative and work independently.
    • Have a strong network configuration and installation background.
    • Be proficient in Microsoft Office computer applications: Email, Excel, Word
    • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
    • Vocational school training or apprenticeship is preferred.
    • On-the-job training is provided.
    Physical Requirements:
    • Must have physical strength, balance, hand-eye coordination, and stamina necessary to complete jobs in various areas.
    • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. at a time.
    • Must be able to ride in a vehicle for extended periods of time to travel to and from job sites.
    • Ability to work in different temperatures and through changing weather conditions.
    • Be able to sit for extended periods of time while driving.
    • Must be able to traverse all areas of the Jobsite. This may include walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, kneeling or stretching.
    • Ability to clearly distinguish colors, shades, and brightness when working with multi-colored cablings such as twisted pair copper and fiber optic cable.
    • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions and use practical judgment while working through job assignments.
    • Ability to work at heights, handle ladders, along with pushing and pulling equipment.
    Work Environment:
    • The Level 1 Telecommunication Technician position requires visiting Alamon customer site facilities nationwide, travel is required.
    • Must be able to work in enterprise, educational, warehouse, and manufacturing settings.
    • Indoor and outdoor work will be based off the scope of the contract.
    • Exposure to dust, odors, gasses, vapors, varying noise levels, and wet or slick surfaces may be possible.
    • When appropriate, wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in compliance with Company standards and governmental regulations.
    • This position may require working outdoors in all kinds of weather conditions and terrain; may work for long periods in hot, cold, wet, windy, or icy conditions.
    Travel Requirements:
    • This is a full-time position that requires extensive travel.
    • Lodging is provided while working and traveling for the Company.
