Telecommunications Director is responsible for the strategic planning and design of an organization's telecommunications systems. Develops policies and procedures for installing and maintaining telecommunications equipment. Being a Telecommunications Director plans and manages complex installation or repair projects. Assesses current and future telecommunications needs and researches and plans improvements to meet those requirements. Additionally, Telecommunications Director trains and develops staff. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Telecommunications Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Telecommunications Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Aerial Construction Telecom Lineman

  • The Telecom Lineman works in an outside plant environment placing, rearranging and removing poles, pulling, lashing and stranding. As an aerial lineman, you’ll install lines and cables (including fiber) using various construction equipment.

    Responsibility

    • Properly climb poles with the ability to safely use gaffs and ladders
    • Operate construction equipment
    • Operate hydraulic aerial lifts and ladders mounted to trucks
    • Install poles and place wires or cables
    • Place aerial coax copper and fiber cable
    • String and maintain wire (Pulling, Lashing, Stranding )
    • Understanding of separation and clearance regulations
    • Utilize standard telecommunications tools
    • Access various installation points
    • Access construction points as required
    • Read and interpret engineering plans
    • Keep a detailed record of work activity

    Requirements

    • 2-3 years of aerial lineman, telecommunications experience preferred
    • Properly climb poles with the ability to safely use gaffs and ladders
    • Candidate should be able to perform all duties in telecom pole line construction
    • Proficient in new build, coax & fiber installation and pole transfers
    • Operate construction equipment and machinery
    • Interpret engineering work plans
    • Must be able to work nights and weekends, if necessary
    • Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
    • Must be able to carry 75-80 lbs., to include an extension ladder.
    • Must be able to work at heights of 20 ’ feet
    • Must be able to bend, stand, sit, crawl, climb and lift throughout the work shift
    • Must have a valid driver’s license
    • CDL Driver License is a PLUS
    • Must be authorized to work in the United States
