Telecommunications Director is responsible for the strategic planning and design of an organization's telecommunications systems. Develops policies and procedures for installing and maintaining telecommunications equipment. Being a Telecommunications Director plans and manages complex installation or repair projects. Assesses current and future telecommunications needs and researches and plans improvements to meet those requirements. Additionally, Telecommunications Director trains and develops staff. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Telecommunications Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Telecommunications Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Construction Technician

  • The Construction Technician is a vital field level employee that works on construction-based projects including underground repairs and new deployments, mid and high rise infrastructure build outs as well as various general construction tasks as required.

    Specific Job Duties:

    • Works under the supervision of field management to repair and/or install fiber optic and coaxial cabling.
    • Trenches and performs general underground construction tasks to complete the installation and/or repair of underground facilities.
    • Installs underground vaults, pedestals and hand holes.
    • Operates light duty machinery to facilitate the construction and/or repair of underground infrastructure.
    • Completes riser build outs for mid and high rise properties including pulling new coaxial or fiber optic cabling, installs splice enclosures and coaxial tap distribution boxes, mounts and builds out L-Band distribution boards, terminates coaxial and category rated cabling at the unit andriser distribution locations and assists Field Service department in any and all deployment tasks as required on a project basis.
    • Works with field management to complete general facility maintenance and construction tasks as needed including, but not limited to painting, general landscaping, basic electrical based tasks and general handyman type tasks.
    • Employee deploys various hand tools to complete tasks as well as picks, shovels, axes, pull tapes and various power tools

    Minimum Job Requirements:

    • High school education or equivalent required.
    • 1-2 years of experience with electrical based work preferred but is not mandatory.
    • 1-2 years of construction based experience preferred but is not mandatory.
    • Light to heavy duty equipment operator certification/experience preferred but not mandatory.
    • Able to stand, lift and bend for long periods of time, lift up to 75 lbs. on a regular basis, climb ladders up to 28 feet, work above ground level effectively, dig trenches and holes for vault, pedestal and underground facilities as well as perform general construction tasks as required.
    • Able to work in adverse weather conditions including being outdoors for extended periods of time performing labor intensive tasks.
    • Able to persist and finish projects despite obstacles or redirect when necessary
    • Completes all necessary paperwork associated with any and all jobs during his/her shift

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
