Overview: We are seeking a skilled Telecommunications Technician to join our team. As a Telecommunications Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing various telecommunications systems. This is a hands-on role that requires technical expertise and attention to detail. Duties: - Install, maintain, and repair telecommunications systems, including voice, data, and video networks - Perform site surveys to assess equipment needs and determine optimal placement - Install and terminate cabling, including fiber optic, coaxial, and Ethernet cables - Test and troubleshoot telecommunications equipment to ensure proper functionality - Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and within budget - Follow blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to perform installations and repairs - Detect and resolve issues with network connectivity or performance - Configure and program telecommunications equipment, such as routers, switches, and firewalls - Provide technical support to customers or end-users as needed Skills: - Certificate or degree in Telecommunications or a related field is preferred - Proficiency in blueprint reading and interpreting technical diagrams - Ability to detect and diagnose problems with telecommunications systems - Familiarity with fire alarm systems and their integration with telecommunications networks - Knowledge of hand tools and power tools used in telecommunications installations - Experience with cabling techniques, including routing, termination, and testing - Strong understanding of network protocols and technologies - Ability to read and interpret schematics for telecommunications equipment - Knowledge of intrusion detection systems (IDS) is a plus If you are a detail-oriented individual with excellent technical skills in the field of telecommunications, we encourage you to apply.
