Telecommunications Director is responsible for the strategic planning and design of an organization's telecommunications systems. Develops policies and procedures for installing and maintaining telecommunications equipment. Being a Telecommunications Director plans and manages complex installation or repair projects. Assesses current and future telecommunications needs and researches and plans improvements to meet those requirements. Additionally, Telecommunications Director trains and develops staff. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Telecommunications Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Telecommunications Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     NATURE OF WORK

    The Aerial Ground Hand is a member of the construction team that is responsible for assisting the Aerial Lineman with aerial strand and fiber in a communication distribution system.  Responsibilities will also include assisting the Aerial Lineman by placing hardware, anchors, storage components and terminals to customer specifications.  Work will be at heights around 30 feet off the ground.  Performs other related duties as assigned.

     

    REQUISITE SKILLS

     

    Education / Certification:   

    • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.
    • Company will provide industry training and certifications if not already secured.
    • CDL is a plus.
    • Valid drivers license 

     

    Technical Skills:  

    • Able to work off ladders and in bucket trucks.
    • Able to pull lasher, throw rope and pull cable.
    • Able to read blueprints and interpret work assignments.

     

    Physical Requirements / Aptitude:  

    • Able to move in different positions – crouching, kneeling, reaching, bending and lifting 75 lbs., unassisted.
    • Works well with small hand and power tools.

     

    Other:   

    • Available to work nights and be on-call; willing to work overtime when required; willing to travel and to work in all-weather conditions.
    • Self-motivated and able to work well in groups.
    • Performs other duties as assigned
