Telecommunications Engineering Technician assists telecommunication engineers in the design and analysis of telecommunication networks. Creates plans and drawings detailing the layout of routers, circuits, cables, switches, or other telecommunications equipment. Being a Telecommunications Engineering Technician ensures network connectivity for end-users. May evaluate existing networks and recommend design changes to improve performance. Additionally, Telecommunications Engineering Technician requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Telecommunications Engineering Technician may require 0-1 year of general work experience. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. We are seeking a skilled Telecommunications Technician to join our team. As a Telecommunications Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing various telecommunications systems. - Install, maintain, and repair telecommunications systems, including cabling, alarm systems, and low voltage equipment
- Perform field service visits to troubleshoot and resolve issues with telecommunications equipment
- Test and inspect telecommunications systems to ensure proper functioning
- Collaborate with clients to understand their specific needs and provide appropriate solutions
- Follow schematics and technical drawings to accurately install and connect telecommunications equipment
- Provide training and support to end-users on the proper use of telecommunications systems
- Keep detailed records of all service calls, repairs, and maintenance performedExperience
- Proven experience as a Telecommunications Technician or similar role
- Strong knowledge of telecommunications systems and equipment
- Familiarity with IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems) and fire alarm systems
- Proficiency in reading schematics and technical drawings
- Experience in computer networking is a plus
