Creates plans and drawings detailing the layout of routers, circuits, cables, switches, or other telecommunications equipment. Being a Telecommunications Engineering Technician ensures network connectivity for end-users. May evaluate existing networks and recommend design changes to improve performance. Additionally, Telecommunications Engineering Technician requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Telecommunications Engineering Technician may require 0-1 year of general work experience. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. As a Hunter Communications Field Technician, you’ll interact daily with our customers bringing them the latest in internet technologies. The ability to effectively communicate with customers and work with urgency is a must. Most of the work is outdoors so the right candidate will be comfortable working in inclement weather, while climbing/working from ladders, and should have experience with hand tools.
The Field Technician performs all responsibilities related to installing wireless, fiber, and COAX services. They perform maintenance and repair service for customers. Work is performed at single family homes, apartment complexes, and businesses ranging from small offices or restaurants to hospitals.
This is a full-time position that will be placed on a rotating on-call schedule and may require weekend work as well as overtime.
